Medlin Software
As of early 2026, Medlin Software has begun integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance our software, documentation, support services, data conversions, and website. Our goal is to use these tools to better serve you, without losing the personal touch you expect.
At Medlin Software, a real person replies to every message. We use AI-based text tools to help us explain solutions more quickly and in “plain English.” Often, AI can take a complex technical process and rephrase it so it is easier to follow.
AI tools are now part of our development process, and they write a fair amount of code. Every line is still read, tested, and optimized by a human before it ships. AI is fast, but it does not know our software, our customers, or the regulations we have to meet.
We tested a long-standing piece of code with an AI tool. The AI suggested adding an error check — which seemed helpful at first — but that specific check was already handled more efficiently in a different part of the software. Good suggestion, wrong context. Noticing the difference is the human’s job.
| Feature | Role of AI | Role of Human |
|---|---|---|
| Support | Drafting clear explanations. | Reviewing, personalizing, and sending replies. |
| Documentation | Suggesting “plain terms” and notes. | Ensuring accuracy and final approval. |
| Coding | Drafting and revising code. | Reviewing, testing, and optimizing. |
| Data conversion | Reading and reformatting reports customers send, whatever format they arrive in. | Running the process, reviewing results, and sending the file back. |
| Logic | Identifying potential edge cases. | Understanding the “big picture” architecture. |
For free data conversions, AI tools see the payroll data you send, including Social Security numbers. How that works, and how to avoid it if you prefer, is covered on the Free Data Migration page.
We believe AI is a powerful assistant, but it will never replace the accountability and expertise of the Medlin team.
